PAT Testing Services
PowerPlug provides the complete solution for all PAT test requirements required under the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 which impose an obligation on employers to maintain electrical systems.
The PowerPlug ‘Safe System’ as we call it is unique and successful because by managing the accident risk based on the type, environment, work, operator experience and condition of the appliance we can not only more effectively protect you but reward you by extending the frequency between combined inspection and testing. It is the combination of PowerPlug’s experience and objective assessment (monitoring of the defect rate %) which allows you to save substantial sums whilst enhancing safety standards.
We carry out a formal visual inspection and test of all your portable electrical equipment including items such as kitchen appliances, cleaning equipment, stored items and equipment used only occasionally. PowerPlug engineers are trained to discover appliances that you yourself have probably not taken into account or counted. Inspection and test also includes leads and transformers.
We always endeavour to rectify any defective appliances found during the test programme to ensure the appliance meets with the current guidelines. We’ll then retest the appliance and won’t even charge you for it .
A simple PASS or FAIL? Not quite …
Should we identify a potential H&S problem, such a guard missing off a welder etc we will notify you with a flaw .
Legislative Compliance
The test protocols meet the standards laid down by both the Health & Safety Executive and The Institution of Electrical Engineers as detailed in the ‘Code of Practice for In-service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment’ – ISBN 085296 7764.
Comprehensive Reporting
Each item which has been inspected and tested will be given a bar coded label which denotes its asset register number. You will be issued with a record of appliances tested, including details of faults, failures and repairs, automatic retest information and a certificate of compliance.

To help make it easier for you to manage your Assets, PowerPlug has developed a secure client portal with easy access to sort, search, filter and print data from all testing programmes.
