Formal visual inspection includes:

  • open plug top and check for damage
  • check correct termination of conductors, ensuring no reverse polarity on primary conductors
  • tighten terminals
  • check flex anchorage and effective glanding
  • check safe flex/cable routing
  • check correct fusing for both appliance and flex capacity
  • check current capacity of plug, flex and connectors for appliance load
  • ensure no overload potential
  • ensure no damage to flex
  • ensure correct ingress protection of plug for the environment
  • ensure safe location of appliance
  • check for appliance damage
  • check for appliance safe working under PUWER 98 within the limitations of the inspection
  • check appropriateness of RCD protection for the environment and appliance’s use

Electrical test includes:

  • test earth resistance
  • test earth polarity
  • test for insulation resistance
  • test for function/load
  • test for current leakage
  • check for shock risk
  • record every digital test result

PAT Testing Equipment

We use industry leading equipment from Seaward which are annually calibrated to UKAS standard.

Each appliance has a unique barcoded label which is uploaded to our Client Portal for you to view anytime.
